Olivia's Place has assembled an international team of experienced therapy consultants to serve on its Technical Advisory Board (TAB). This board guides the overall direction of the company, for instance by reviewing therapy consulting standards and by providing in-house training on technical topics.
Alice McNelis, BS, MS, PT. A pediatric physical therapist since 1989, Alice works at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University. She is the primary PT for their Down syndrome clinic. She is a guest lecturer at Stanford and two other universities.
Sharla Luther, BA, BS, MS, CCC-SLP. A pediatric Speech Therapist since 1991, Sharla is currently in private practice in San Diego. She previously worked for early intervention agencies such as Easter Seals (Ventura, Calif.) and Abilities United (Palo Alto, Calif.)
Sharon DeMuth, PT, DPT. Dr. DeMuth is a professor of clinical PT at the University of Southern California. She teaches physical therapy management of the pediatric patient. Her research interests include idiopathic scoliosis and the motor development of premature infants. Dr. DeMuth was co-investigator for PEDALS (Pediatric Endurance and Limb Strengthening), a study evaluating the effectiveness of stationary cycling for improving strength and fitness in children with spastic dipelgic cerebral palsy.
Paul Murdock, MS, PT. A physical therapist since 1984, Paul established his own orthopedic and sports medicine clinic at Cupertino Physical Therapy in 2003. Paul has also worked as a cardiovascular therapist and taught at Marymount University.
Jean Deitz, PhD, OTR, FAOTA is a professor emeritus in the University of Washington's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. At UW, Jean developed and taught many core courses in the occupational therapy program, including Tests & Measurements, Research in Rehabilitation, and OT Theory and Practice in Pediatrics. She also chaired the thesis committees of 52 OT students and 11 PT students, and served on 12 doctoral dissertation committees. Dr. Deitz is a prolific researcher and writer. She was the principal investigator or project coordinator for 19 federally funded grants and has served on seven editorial boards of peer reviewed professional journals. She has also published 76 journal articles and 12 book chapters in textbooks used in rehabilitation education. Dr. Deitz is a Fellow of the AOTA.
